Finding Your Way...

It's a contest between the heart and the head,

Or finding a place where they meet instead

It's about living in the then or living in the now,

About working it out or just wondering how

It's about clutching at straws and hanging on to it all,

Or letting go and enjoying the fall

It's about you together or you alone,

About riding the waves or making your own

It's about taking the plunge when the chances are dim

And then it's about if you sink or swim

It's about being with or being without,

A toss up between faith and nagging doubt

There's always a choice that you have to make

There's always a chance that you have to take

A choice that you make between "I" or "we"

A chance on yourself or a chance on me

It's never about a clear black or white

There isn't always a wrong or right

It's about wishing and waiting for it to begin,

Or trusting the odds and diving right in

It's about losing hope and turning back,

Or getting your life right back on track

It's about going on, just in vain,

Or starting over and trying again

It's about giving up or giving in

About losing the race or fighting to win

It's about finding a reason either way,

For moving on or deciding to stay

In the end it's about knowing which way to go,
